It all started when radio DJ Paul Barth, with a keen sense for direct response and human motivation, ventured into the world of advertising and founded Hunter Barth. Soon after, current CEO Wes Phillips joined, and the agency continued to grow, cementing its position as a leading B2B marketing firm in Orange County and the United States.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, the digital revolution transformed how people sought and received information. Many of our clients, who by then had greatly expanded into a mix of industries, had similarly experienced a shift in what products and services were relevant and how their customers preferred to engage with and purchase them.
Yet we endured, and we thrived. Many of our clients endured, and they thrived. With us by each other’s sides. And one key reason is because we never lost sight of one unwavering principle–why people make choices. No matter what, the why is guided by emotion, and regardless of what a product, service or experience looks like, emotional buy in is required for brand relationships to be formed.
Just like any brand, there are times when a brand needs to be re-evaluated and re-addressed. We’d come to that time in our brand’s life, and we evolved to Orange Label Art + Advertising–a name and identity inspired by the roots of advertising, when citrus growers in California differentiated themselves through label art. We created and embraced a positioning statement that while was always at the forefront of our values, hadn’t yet been defined–Thriving Brand Leadership. A way of life that each and every team member embodies and connects with, and that guides our strategic approach for our clients.
There isn’t one. Because of the way we’ve been able to adapt, for our own brand and our clients’ brands, we’ve remained a relevant and modern agency with a real track record for success. We survived the economic downturn, we’ve grown our agency’s team and we continue to create and deliver. And the proof is in the client relationships we’ve maintained for 20+ years, in the passion of our team, in the vision of our leadership and commitment to our brands.
